I started work for a Building Society and then moved to the Civil Service, where I worked as an auditor and started my accountancy training. I moved to a publishing and exhibition company, running the finance team, and then moved to an Apple Dealership where I began to implement accounting software.
I had always wanted to run my own company, and in 1991 I started Amethyst.
My time now is mainly spent between project implementation and consultation with both existing and new customers. I really enjoy seeing our customers use our solutions to grow and develop their businesses.
Away from the office I love good food, good wine, and the theatre; but music is my first love and part of my life since I started playing the piano aged 4. I also play the organ for a number of local churches.
I have been providing IT support since 2003 to all sizes of organisations - from single users with basic systems up to 750 users in a complex environment. I have an HND in Business IT, and I am always looking to expand my knowledge to provide the best possible service to clients. I like to spend time with my family or socialising with friends; you can often find me down at the pool or at the gym trying to keep in shape.
I initially trained as an accountant before moving into sales. I worked for Rank Xerox for many years, ending up as Head of European Marketing at their international HQ. In 1985, the call to work for myself became too strong and I set up Wenmouth International, offering hardware and networking to clients throughout the South East. I added financial software in 1991, and in 1998 Wenmouth merged with Amethyst. I am crazy about all types of sport especially cricket, rugby and football, and enjoy watching our local teams.
I come from an administrative background, with over twenty years' Sage software experience. That knowledge, my attention to detail, and good organisational skills is what I bring to the Amethyst team. I am a wife, and mum to two boys. I enjoy travelling and my husband and I have visited some beautiful places, which we will revisit when the boys are older. I love anything crafty and I always have some sort of project on the go.
As Amethyst’s Technical Support Manager, you’ll either meet me during one of our many implementations and upgrades, or speak to me for technical assistance. When I’m not on-site or providing support to our growing customer base, you’ll find me managing the in-house systems at Amethyst. Outside of work, I’m either spending time with my family, socialising, or supporting live music events.
I first joined Amethyst in 2003 as a developer after completing my Master’s in Computer Management. Working here has always provided me with exciting new challenges, and my problem solving skills are constantly put to the test! I am excited to be a part of the team and enjoy new challenges. Out of work, I spend most of my time with family, and socialising with friends. I have two cheeky boys who keep me on my toes and make sure I stay fit!
I trained as an electronics engineer specialising
in Radar, working in military and civil aviation for a number of years. During
this time I developed my interest in computer programming and obtained software
development qualifications. I decided to pursue computing as a career and have
since specialised in data, document and project management working in a variety
of industries. Away from work I enjoy spending my free time with my family, and
on my hobbies of genealogy, digital photography, reading and cycling.
Finance & Admin
I joined Amethyst in 2020 after spending several years at home with my children, studying for a degree with The Open University, and doing voluntary work. I have a background in administration and finance, having previously worked in recruitment and commercial banking before having my youngest child.
