Project Management

Project Management

The most important part in the roll out of a new system is the way and process in which it is implemented and managed.  Over the past 18 years we have developed a proven 12 point methodology based around the PRINCE2 methodology which can be adapted to all types and sizes of projects.  Our project plans are developed using Microsoft Project to control all the tasks and these are updated by the named Project Manager each week together with detailed progress reports.  The client is therefore kept aware of exactly how the project is progressing and any issues or constraints are highlighted.

  1. Initial Kick off Meeting with all parties involved
  2. Review of business processes and workflows – to establish how the client operates in detail and what changes have been identified.  This review then forms the basis for the project to move forward
  3. Project Initiation Document and Plan – the review is then put into a PID (Project Initiation Document) confirming the scope, responsibilities of each team, the main objectives and the milestones on which the project will be judged. A risk assessment is also part of this document. A detailed project plan is then completed and agreed.
  4. Installation of the software and configuration of the test system
  5. Development of reports and documents
  6. Processes proved and agreed in test
  7. Live system development
  8. Training for users
  9. Review of any issues and address these
  10. Go Live
  11. Review of project and objectives
  12. Ongoing support

As part of the Access Accreditation each year our company and our consultants are tested and checked on their implementation methodology using the ACAP (Access Consultants Accreditation Programme). This is a programme that is unique to Access and shows the importance that all place on the implementation of the software.
