Key members of staff
Lisa Miles Managing Director
My main focus is project implementation and presales consultancy and of course my MD role. After training as an accountant in the Civil Service, where I audited Primary Care Trusts all over the UK, I worked as an Accountant in a publishing company and then an Apple dealership. I had considered setting up my own business for some time, however the timing of taking the plunge and setting up Amethyst was also the year my first son was born so it was fairly hectic! Away from the office, I enjoy good food and wine, the theatre and my first love is music, part of my life since I was 4 when I started playing the piano.
Geoff Wenmouth Sales Director
I trained as an accountant initially and then moved into sales, working for Rank Xerox for many years and I ended up as Head of European Marketing at their international HQ. In 1985, the call to work for myself became too strong and I set up Wenmouth International who offered hardware and networking to clients throughout the South East. We also sold Access software and in 1998 Wenmouth merged with Amethyst. Out of the office I am crazy about all types of sport especially football and enjoy watching our local team, MK Dons.
Mark Newman Technical Support Manager
I'm Mark, I joined in Amethyst in 1997 after completing a degree in Computing at the University of Central Lancashire. I'm the 'I.T. guy' in technical support, so you'll either meet me during one of our many implementations and upgrades, or speak to me for any technical assistance. When I'm not on-site or providing support to our growing customer base, you'll find me knee deep in hardware managing the in-house systems at Amethyst. Outside of work, I'm either spending time with my family, socialising or going to gigs.
Namrata Pandey Development Manager
Hi, I'm Namrata, I became a part of Amethyst in Sept 2003, just a year after completing my Post graduation degree in Computer Management from India. It’s exciting working here and I’m lucky to be a part of its growth. Every day comes with a new challenge. When not at work, I like to spend most of my time with family, especially with my little boy who keeps me on my toes!
Greg Mullane Project ManagerI joined Amethyst as a Consultant in June 2007 and my background is in Accountancy, having qualified in Australia in 1980. Since then, I have worked with computer related financial software, programming for the first five years, then consulting, pre sales and account management roles in both Australia and in the UK. Building strong client relationships has always been a priority of mine and Amethyst allows me to continue this role as I get involved in all types of work ranging from pre sales, consulting and project management through to support and implementation.
Karen Harper Accounting SupportHi, I’m Karen and I joined Amethyst at the end of November 2009. My background is in accountancy - having started my career as PA to an accountant, I got the ‘numbers bug’ and quickly moved across into an accountancy role. I’ve acquired some 20 years experience and qualifications along the way. In my free time I’m learning to speak German, I enjoy running, skiing (mainly in Austria, hence the German) and spending time with my family and friends.
Lisa Blackwell Accounting SupportHello, I’m Lisa. I joined Amethyst in December 2009. I have gained 13 year’s accounts experience and various qualifications; from working in an accountancy practice to preparing management accounts for a high tech engineering firm. I also have experience in systems administration and implementation having worked for a national domiciliary care agency before having my three year old son, Maxwell. Out of work I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and socialising with friends (although I don’t get to do that as much anymore!).
Tom Farrell Sales Consultant
My background is in Biochemistry and Accountancy, (an odd mix!), and I came into the IT industry around 1993 on joining IBIS, an author of Tax and Statutory Accounting Systems based in Manchester. Since then I have worked for a number of companies selling a variety of commercial accounting systems and associated solutions. I enjoy Scuba diving, (when on holiday, as the UK is too cold!), playing the guitar, (badly!), and polishing my Harley, which I occasionally ride, (as long as it’s not raining!). I also have a long list of other ‘hobbies’ which get dragged out and dusted down when the mood takes me. Having only recently joined Amethyst I am really looking forward to working with Lisa, Geoff and the rest of the team.
Angela Peck Administration and Marketing
I deal with administration and marketing at Amethyst, and I joined in 2007. I am the person to contact if you have any queries on training courses, support contracts or updating your records. I originate from Norfolk and worked for NatWest for 18 years in many different roles before managing a sub branch on a business park. After this the family moved to Princeton in the USA with my husband’s work. I enjoy sailing with the family, and I attend many national youth sailing events and helping with various training and events at our sailing club in the Norfolk Broads.
